Ingredients

Maple Sweet Potatoes

  • 1 lb sweet potatoes
  • 1-2 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt or sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Savory Sweet Potatoes

  • 1 lb sweet potatoes
  • 1-2 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt or sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Heat oven - Heat oven to 400°F with the rack in the middle position.
  • Prepare sweet potatoes - Peel sweet potatoes and slice into ¼-inch to ½-inch rounds. Place in a mixing bowl and add the other ingredients. Mix until all of the sweet potato pieces are coated.

  • Bake sweet potatoes - Transfer the potatoes to a parchment paper lined baking sheet and arrange in a single layer leaving some space between each potato. Bake on the middle rack for 30-40 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender, flipping over halfway through. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Top Tips
  • Leave space between the potatoes for air flow so the potatoes have crispy edges.
  • Do not throw the sweet potato peels in the garbage disposal or they will clog your drain. Compost them instead.
    Keep an eye on the sweet potatoes during the last few minutes of their cooking because they can go from perfect to burnt quickly.
Storage
  • Refrigerate leftover sweet potato slices in an air-tight container for up to 3 days. Reheat leftover slices in the oven at 300°F until warm.
